The second-largest economy in Southeast Asia anticipates 12 million visitors by year’s end.

An official from Thailand’s tourism board stated that the country hopes to attract 36 million international visitors in 2024, with an extra 12.2 million expected in the last four months of the year.
Over 23 million international tourists flocked to Southeast Asia’s second-largest economy from January to August, as reported by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT).

According to Thapanee Kiatphaibool, the governor of TAT, as reported by the Bangkok Post, a large number of international tourists are anticipated to visit Thailand from September to December. This is due to the visa-free policy, the improvement in international flights, and various festive events. The estimated revenue from these tourists is 652 billion baht, or about US$19 billion.

The list of nations and territories whose inhabitants are no longer need a visa to visit Thailand and remain for up to 60 days has increased from 57 in July to 93 as a result of the country’s expansion of its visa exemption list.

With a projected 28% rise over last year, the Thai government predicts that the total number of international tourists would reach 35.99 million by the end of the year. With a projected 32% rise over last year, tourist earnings is anticipated to reach around 1.8 trillion baht.
